Mark Griffin, Chief Human Resources Officer, BJ’s Wholesale Club

Mark Griffin is the Chief Human Resources Officer at BJ’s Wholesale Club where he oversees all human resources activities for the $15B retailer and it’s more than 30,000 team members. This includes compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, talent management, workforce development, HR technology, HR business partners and team member relations.

Mark is a veteran human resources executive with more than 28 years of experience, the majority of which was spent at CVS Health. Prior to joining BJ’s, he was SVP, Corporate Human Resources at CVS, where he led a team of more than 200 HR professionals serving more than 240,000 employees and was responsible for talent acquisition, executive placement, and employee and labor relations for the nation’s largest retail pharmacy.

Earlier in his CVS career, Mark was SVP of Human Resources for CVS Caremark, its largest business unit; VP of Corporate Human Resources; Head of Retail Human Resources at CVS/Pharmacy; and Senior Director of Human Resources. Prior to CVS, Mark was SVP, Human Resources, at Fleet Financial Group.

Mark has a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. He’s also a board member at Children’s Friend, a $36M non-profit organization that promotes the well-being & healthy development of Rhode Island’s most vulnerable young children.
